The Belchalwell Guestbook

I wish all villages had a website with so much information. A great asset to genealogists

Having just emigrated to Oz, it was lovely to look at the Bel site. My father was born there in 1922, his parents, brother, uncles are buried at the church and my "uncle" Nigel still lives there. So alot of Lodder history in this small, beautiful village.

An excellent and comprehensive website - congratulations.
I am a descendent of the Andrews family who farmed in Belchalwell in the 1800s. Lots of useful information, thanks.

Born in Winterbourne Stickland - been living in Okeford Fitzpaine for the past 24 years. I regularly walk what we call 'The Bel Circuit', following Garlands Lane though Belchawell and back to Okeford.

Found this site from the link on Okeford Fitzpaine site - it's FABULOUS a credit to you ;o)

Found your site through a search about Jack Hargreaves. My Mum´s family came from Dorset and seeing the beautiful views really makes me miss England. I can see 4 volcanoes from my home, but NOTHING compares to the downs. Congratulations on a really well-presented site.

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative website. You should be commended for the transcription of the census and parish records. I found these particularly interesting as I am researching the Warr family from the area who lived for a period of time at Knackers Hole. Please keep adding to your site.

I'd firstly like to rebuke that offensive comment made about my personal hygiene by one of my supposed friends! I am a proud inhabitor of the quaint and querky hamlet that is Belchalwell. Having lived there for nearly 13 years I'd say i know it pretty well, but there's so much stuff on this site that i never knew.
